Who can apply for a residency at Užupis Art Incubator?

  • Užupis Art Incubator welcomes actively creating artists, creative businesses and cultural and creative industries start-ups.

    Currently, the incubator hosts artists from the following artistic disciplines: sculpture, interdisciplinary art, painting, printmaking, architecture, photography, scenography, ceramics, jewellery, textile art, interior design, visual identity creation, creativity accelerators, scenography, art-tech, 3D graphics.

When can I apply for residency?

  • Each time a studio becomes vacant, an open call for applications is held to select a new member of the resident community. We invite you to follow the latest updates on our website, social network profiles or subscribe to our newsletter.

Can I apply for a residency if I am a self-taught artist and have no formal art education?

  • Yes. A formal arts education is not a requirement for applying.

Are the residences equipped with full-time living facilities?

  • Užupis Art Incubator "Vilnelė" spaces has 2 studios equipped for full time accommodation and creative work. The other studio spaces are designed exclusively for creative work.

How does an artist benefit from a residency at Užupis Art Incubator?

  • Residents of Užupis Art Incubator have the opportunity to gain experience by collaborating with experienced artists, to get involved in project activities, and to participate in events. Each resident is given the opportunity to hold free exhibitions in spaces that attract a large number of Vilnius locals and visitors, thus showcasing their work not only to the national but also to the international community. To make sure that the residents' creative activities do not go unnoticed, Užupis Art Incubator takes care of content creation and publicity on its social media profiles.

I want to hold an exhibition in the incubator space. What should I do?

  • At the end of each year, an open call for proposals is held for an exhibition in the incubator's Vilnelė or Kalnas spaces, and is open to all those involved in artistic activities. If an artist is organising his/her debut exhibition, exhibiting in the incubator space is free of charge. Do I have to pay to visit exhibitions or events at Užupis Art Incubator?

  • Visiting the exhibitions and events in our spaces is free.
