Apply for residency at Užupis Art Incubator

Užupis Art Incubator is calling for applicants for live-in residencies for the 2025 January-May period. We are inviting innovative creators from the visual arts field to join the first and one of the largest art incubators in the Baltic State.

We are offering:

• two studios (38.23 sqm and 32.51 sqm) at a preferential price of 360€ per month + utility bills (per studio) in the scenic heart of Vilnius.

• studios, that are fully equipped with all the amenities needed for both full-time living and creative work. Each space can accommodate one artist or a couple. Studio spaces are pet friendly.

• possible periods of residence from February to March and from January to May 2025.

• an opportunity to be a part of one of the most vibrant creative communities in the Baltics and forge new inspiring connections.

We are looking for:

• young, unique creators in the visual and interdisciplinary fields;

• individuals who are not only dedicated to their craft but also open to creative collaborations with fellow artists and eager to share their work with the local community. Whether through exhibitions, workshops, or interactive events, we are aiming to encourage artists to engage with the vibrant cultural scene around them, fostering a spirit of connection, dialogue, and mutual inspiration.

Who are we?

The Užupis Art Incubator is a dynamic creative space located in the historic district of Užupis in Vilnius, the capital city of Lithuania. The UAI is a space where artists from the visual field and creative industries professionals can collaborate and reside. At Užupis Art Incubator we foster entrepreneurship, community engagement, artistic innovation and the development of artistic fusion through peer-to-peer collaborations and openness of creativity to the national and international community. The 1500 sqm spaces house local and international residencies, workshops, educational spaces and an exhibition gallery.

Užupis Art Incubator is home to artists from many different fields - e.g., sustainable start-ups teams, creators who combine technology with art, photographers, painters, sculptors, textile artists, graphic designers, architects and interdisciplinary artists – member from these fields all cooperatively reside in the spaces of Užupis Art Incubator. At the Incubator their creative ideas are brought to life. The Užupis Art Incubator is also home to innovative creative businesses and startups that stimulate and promote the creativity of children and society at large. 

Location

The residences of the Užupis Art Incubator are located in the very center of the city, in Užupis, a place that is not only popular with Vilnius locals, but also with a large number of international visitors. Also known as the independent Republic of Užupis, this district of Vilnius is one of the most unique and bohemian in Lithuania.

Art is an integral part of its historical and cultural identity. In this unique environment, open to the public, the studios are located in a building that commemorates the gatherings of the first creators by the Vilnelė River. Here, residents not only discover the lively bustle of the city, but also the calm and creative focus in the gentle sanctuary of nature.

COMPETITION RULES FOR LONG-TERM RESIDENCY AT THE PREMISES OF THE PUBLIC INSTITUTION UŽUPIS ART INCUBATOR
